This notice explains how Spark & Co (“we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use this website or contact us. We handle your information in line with UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Spark & Co is the controller of the personal information we collect through this website. If you have any questions about this notice or how we use your information, contact us at [email protected] or on 01382 123456.

What information we collect

  • Information you give us. When you fill in our contact form, email or call us, we collect your name, email address, phone number and the details of your enquiry.
  • Information about your use of this website. We may collect your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and how you found us, using cookies and similar technologies.
  • Information about our work for you. If you become a customer, we also hold the address of the property, details of the work, quotes, invoices and payment records.

Why we use your information

We only use your personal information when the law allows us to. The reasons and legal bases are:

  • to reply to your enquiry and give you a quote (our legitimate interests, and steps you ask us to take before entering a contract);
  • to carry out and invoice work for you (to perform our contract with you);
  • to meet legal duties, such as keeping accounting records and safety certificates (legal obligation);
  • to keep this website secure and understand how it is used (our legitimate interests); and
  • to send you news or offers, but only if you have told us you want to hear from us (your consent). You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with organisations that help us run our business, such as website hosting, email and accounting providers, and with scheme providers or regulators where the law or our certification requires it. These organisations may only use your information to provide services to us.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it. Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted after 12 months. Records of work we have carried out, including certificates, invoices and payments, are kept for six years to meet tax, insurance and legal requirements.

Cookies

This website uses cookies that are necessary for it to work and, if you agree, cookies that help us understand how it is used. You can change your cookie settings, or delete cookies, in your browser at any time.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month.

How we keep it safe

We take appropriate technical and organisational steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including secure hosting and restricting access to those who need it.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
